A share of a specific tail
Fractional ownership suits clients flying enough to want an aircraft, and sensible enough not to want the whole of one. You hold a defined share of a named aircraft; INDD Air operates, crews and maintains it.
01
A named aircraft
Your share is in one identified tail, not a pool. You know the cabin, the configuration, the age and the maintenance history of the aircraft you board.
02
Structured before you sign
Ownership structure, tax position and depreciation treatment are modelled with your advisers first. Nothing is signed until the numbers have been through your own counsel.
03
Operated on our certificate
Crewing, scheduling, maintenance planning, insurance, hangarage and regulatory filing sit with us. Fixed cost is billed monthly against a management fee with no markup on fuel, handling or parts.
04
A defined exit
Five-year terms with a guaranteed buyback at appraised market value, and the option to move your share into the next aircraft when the fleet renews.
Share sizes
| Share | Annual hours | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| 1/16 | 50 hours | Regional trips, a few times a month |
| 1/8 | 100 hours | Weekly regional flying with occasional long-haul |
| 1/4 | 200 hours | A working aircraft for a family or a firm |
| 1/2 | 400 hours | Near-exclusive use without whole ownership |
Hours are per twelve-month period and roll to the following year. Structures are arranged individually — speak to an advisor.
Two costs, both known in advance.
Fixed — billed monthly
The management fee
Crewing, scheduling, maintenance planning, insurance, hangarage and regulatory filing — one fee, with no markup on the services within it.
Variable — per occupied hour
Only the hours you fly
Fuel, handling, catering and en-route charges at cost, for the hours you actually fly. Nothing added on top of the invoice we receive.
Not billed
What you never see
Positioning outside your flying, other owners' use of the tail, and the desk's time between your trips. Your share carries none of it.
Against the alternatives.
| Fractional | Membership | Whole ownership | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Capital outlay | Share of one aircraft | Prepaid hours only | The whole aircraft |
| Commitment | Five-year term | Annual, renewable | Indefinite |
| Aircraft | A named tail | A fixed class | Yours outright |
| Operation | Our certificate | Our certificate | Your flight department |
| Exit | Guaranteed buyback | Refundable hours | Resale at market |
Flying less than roughly fifty hours a year? Membership is usually the better fit. Your advisor will model both against your actual flying.
Questions owners ask first.
What happens at the end of the term?
Five-year terms close with a guaranteed buyback at appraised market value, or you move your share into the next aircraft as the fleet renews.
How is my share taxed?
Ownership structure, tax position and depreciation are modelled with your own advisers before anything is signed. Nothing is executed until your counsel has seen the numbers.
Do I ever fly a different tail?
Your share is in one named aircraft. When it is in maintenance, an equivalent is provided on notice — you are never grounded by a single airframe.
Can I change the size of my share?
As availability allows, and at renewal you can move up, down, or across to a different type as your flying changes.
Who operates the aircraft?
INDD Air, on its own certificate — the same crew, desk and safety standard as the rest of the fleet.
“I wanted an aircraft, not a flight department. This is the first arrangement that gave me the one without the other.”
